Not wanting to meet up at a coffee joint or a fast food joint, Jordan agreed to take a stroll on the beach with his former girlfriend. The park would have too many people to witness a screaming match if one should have occurred. The beach would only have a few people occasionally jogging by with their dog or sitting out on their deck sipping hot chocolate to the sound of the waves crashing against the sand on the beach.
Waiting for Callie, Jordan pulled his phone out of his pocket and called his mother. He was planning on flying home that weekend to visit her and wanted to make sure that she had remembered their planned get together. After talking for awhile with his mother, she asked him what he was doing and Jordan told her. When she heard that he was meeting up with Callie, she told Jordan to stop being a fool and stop going back to such a destructive relationship. His mother like Callie and thought that she was a sweet girl, she just felt as if she and her son weren't fit to be together. Their personalities were too similar and she knew that the distance when her son went on tour caused a lot of problems for the pair.
Eventually hanging up the phone with his mother, Jordan just stood at the waterline and looked out into the horizon. He was at peace when he was staring into nature, but he knew that nothing peaceful lasted forever.

The young female's heart raced frantically in her chest as she picked out the perfect outfit. Callie, like most other girls, felt the need to look perfect for the guy she was in love with. It just so happened that the guy Callie was going to meet up with was Jordan. Jordan of course being the on again, off again boyfriend who at the moment was off with Callie.
She had finally convinced him to meet in person rather than just chatting online and through text. Things got heated too quickly for Callie and she thought that if they were to see each other in person, Jordan could see how desperately she wanted to be with him again. She also hoped for a spark from him in her direction too.
Once the female was dressed properly for their meeting, she sprayed some of her favorite perfume. One that she knew Jordan would remember well from their last bought of dating. Callie fluffed her hair a bit out of her hat to make sure it looked cute then headed out to her car.
Callie drove to the beach near the spot where Jordan told her to meet him. The beach, at night, in the winter. Romance had been a strong passion of Callie's. She always believed that being romantic was what would keep love alive in the world. She knew that Jordan had wanted to pick the beach because it could be more intimate. Maybe it was also because if things got too out of hand, not many people would be around.
Callie finally got out of her car, letting her thoughts wander away as she spotted Jordan at the edge of the beach, facing the waves. She took a few deep breaths as she walked towards him to calm her nerves. She didn't know exactly how tonight would go but of course, she had hopes of what it would be perfectly like.
Once Callie got to where Jordan was, she made herself appear to the left side of him. She watched the waves with him for a second before speaking. "So," she said softly and looked over to Jordan. "We're here," she spoke rather awkwardly. She didn't really know how to start anything with him anymore and that broke her heart even more than it had been.

Jordan wasn't normally one to fight, but when it came to Callie, strangely it sort of felt natural. Unfortunately, it seemed as if it had always been something that defined the pair as a couple. They were either at each other's throat or their tongues were down the other's throat; it was rare that there was ever an in between setting for them. Because of this, the pair never seemed to be able to hold down a relationship together for very long, but it also wasn't able to keep them away from each other for very long either. That was another reason for meeting up with Callie that afternoon; Jordan hated being away from her for very long and currently, it was long enough.
Listening to the waves crash against the beach was so peaceful for the male. He focused on nothing more than the water and the distant sounds of boats far out in the ocean. It wasn't more than ten minutes after Jordan and his mother had hung up that a certain smell entered the male's nostrils. The scent was an all too familiar one; the sweet scent of Callie's perfume. This one in particular was his absolute favorite; the same one that quickly turned him onto her quicker than the others she had tried out.
The off again couple stood in silence for a few moments, before Callie broke it. It was then that Jordan knew their conversation could go in any direction. It honestly scared the male to think that one day, they could break up for good and call it quits permanently, but he just didn't know how they could fix what they had already damaged so badly. Finally speaking, the male continued to look out to the ocean, "Callie, I'm sorry." He knew that one day it may not be enough, but Jordan hoped that for right now, it was. Putting his arms around the girl he was still madly in love with, Jordan finally managed to take his gaze off of the water and look down at the female in his embrace. "I miss you," he managed.

The female soon put her hands into her jacket pocket, keeping them a bit warmer than they had been. The light mist from the breeze blowing water off of the sea made Callie's eyes flutter a bit. In the next few moments after speaking those tiny words to him, Callie wasn't sure what to make of what was happening.
His arms had wrapped around Callie's waist as if it were the most normal thing in the world. When the taller male looked down at her and said that he missed her, Callie's eyes immediately welled up. For one, she had been hoping he'd say that but not nearly that quickly. And two, she could feel her heart breaking. She almost wanted to push away but her hands remained in her jacket pockets as she looked up at him.
With tearful eyes, Callie searched Jordan for any sign of playing around or even just faking it. Something that would tell her that he didn't really mean what he was saying; that he was just trying to be nice.
After a few more moments of silence, she didn't know what to do. Slowly, she moved her hands out of her pockets and placed them on Jordan's chest. She almost had the instinct to grab at his shirt and pull him in for a kiss, but she held back. She moved her gaze to his chest where it stayed as she mustered up the energy to speak.
"I miss you too Jordan, but I'm the one that should be sorry." she spoke, trying very hard not to look up at him for fear of breaking down into a complete mess. Her heart was partially torn. He had been so against seeing her that it took so much effort for her to even convince him to come here tonight. Yet, here he was, holding her in his arms, telling her he missed her.
Their relationship always had been back and forth, on and off. It was just the way the two were. But Callie was beyond tired of it. She wanted this time to be it or not at all. She had to give him the ultimatum. Not that she really wanted to.
With a soft sigh, Callie stepped back to look up at Jordan, his arms still wrapped around her waist lightly. "Jordan, look," she paused to take a deep breath, "I don't want this anymore," she continued as she could feel her cheeks burning and the hot tears begin to stream down her face. "I don't us to be us anymore. I want us to be better than this or nothing. I can't keep tiring myself out after stupid mistakes just to get you to even see me. I don't want to have to go for months on end not seeing you and hating myself for everything I've ever done to make you hate me," the female spoke as the tears ran faster down her cheeks. This conversation was going in a direction she hadn't really wanted it to go so quickly but it needed to be said.
