Maddox's life was still rather rocky but it was slowly getting better. His depression was no longer nearly as deep as it had been a few months ago. He had a girl in his life, for whom he was thankful for almost everything good that was happening in his life. He had his friends, particularly Jesse, who continued to hunt him down and tell him to hang out when Becca wasn't around.
Today was one of those days that Jesse had dragged Maddox to the tattoo parlor. Jesse himself didn't want to get more ink just yet, just a touch up on his tattoo for Bayleigh. However, he told Maddox the moment the pair walked into the parlor that Maddox was going to be getting ink. "I don't even know what I would want," the male told his friend. Jesse patted a strong hand on Maddox's shoulder before responding. "Doesn't matter. Get a damn line. Get something. It'll make you feel better," the blonder male said making Maddox chuckle. "Right, okay," Maddox responded.
After talking with one of the tattoo artists, Maddox decided on getting a phoenix. He had already known the story of the phoenix and when the tattoo artist, whose name was Matt, suggested something that would symbolize strength and being reborn, a phoenix just made sense.
After the first half hour session, Maddox had to let his arm rest. He went outside to try calling Becca to see what she was up to. Unfortunately, she didn't answer. She was probably busy setting things up for the band. He left a brief message. "Hey Becca, it's Justin. Just wondering what you're up to and if you wanna hang. Jesse took me to the tattoo parlor if you wanna stop by and we can hang out when I'm done. Um, so yeah. Hope to hear from ya," the male uttered awkwardly into his phone before hanging up. He and Becca weren't officially dating. There was no label on what they were but Maddox was happy just spending time with the Moore female.

Looking to her best friend, Valerie, Becca Moore just sighed heavily. She had been dating her baby brother's friend, Justin, unofficially, and was now faced with a big decision. Thankfully, Becca knew that Valerie wouldn't blab to any of her siblings, especially Bentley and Bryant. This was something that Becca needed to tell her brothers, but she needed to tell Justin first.
Sitting in her bathroom, on the edge of the tub, Becca just looked to her friend. "What am I going to do if this is positive?" the female questioned out loud. Looking from her friend to the little white stick of uncertainty, Becca sighed. "Bayleigh tries and doesn't succeed," she began. "I don't want kids, yet I'm about to have parenthood smack me upside the head," the brunette said, beginning to pace the bathroom.
--
Driving to the tattoo parlor that Justin had mentioned that he had been at, Becca had a heavy feeling sitting in her stomach that she knew wouldn't go away any time soon. When she pulled her car into the parking lot and found a spot next to Justin's car, Becca turned the car off and sat in the driver's seat for a few seconds. It took her a bit, but when she finally gained up the courage, Becca undid her seat belt, opened the car door, took her keys out of the ignition, grabbed her purse, then got out of her car. The female closed the door, then pressed the lock button on the key pad. Taking the short, but fearful walk to the door of the the building, Becca took the entire walk to regain her composure.
Putting her hand on the door, Becca pulled it open and heard the bell jingle to signal that someone had entered the building. Looking around, the brunette soon spotted her boy toy and good friend. Walking over to them, Becca awkwardly stood there and said hi to them both and the tattoo artist that was doing up Justin's tattoo.

Over some idle, slightly meaningless conversation in the next fifteen minutes that followed his phone call to Becca, Maddox sat in the chair with his arm propped up so the Matt could continue to work on it. Jesse's minor addition and touch up was already done by then so he sat beside Maddox and Matt in an unused rolling office chair.
Maddox looked over to the door when the bell jingled, signaling someone entering. It didn't take long for the brunette female to come over to him and Jesse and say hello. However, Maddox could tell right away that something was up. He wasn't about to bring anything up though until he was away from Jesse and Matt. "Hey sweetheart," Maddox said and motioned an air kiss towards Becca.
Jesse jokingly made some gagging sounds, to which Maddox turned to glare at him. Matt started chuckling a bit himself. "Don't give me that crap Jess. You know damn well you and Bayleigh are worse. So freaking gross, man," Maddox said, taking his free arm while Matt wasn't touching the tattoo to playfully punch his friend. Maddox turned his attention back to Becca. "You can have a seat if you want. It should only be a few more minutes," Maddox said, motioning with his head to the comfortable waiting chairs.
-------------------------------
After the bandage was placed on his arm, hiding the final design of the tattoo, Maddox got up and walked over to Becca, Jesse close behind him. "Ready to go somewhere else?" Maddox asked Becca. The male then turned around to his friend and handed him his keys. "Take the car back to my place or wherever, but put gas in the damn tank and DON'T scratch it," Maddox said seriously as he placed the keys in Jesse's hand.
He turned back to Becca once Jesse had left. Maddox held his hand to his... Becca and waited for her to take it so he could lead her out of the tattoo parlor. The word girlfriend was touchy for Maddox. He didn't want to rush into anything but it had been months of seeing each other. He also didn't want to jump into a serious relationship and break his own heart like he did with Ezzie. Those thoughts started to bring down his mood so he quickly thought of Becca. A smile appeared on the male's face almost instantly.

Seeing Justin blow an air kiss at her, Becca did the same back. The female then sat down in the chair near Justin and listened to the males bickering back and forth about public displays of affection. Shaking her head, Becca heard her phone going off in her purse and pulled it out. Seeing that it was her mother, Becca picked it up and began speaking in Spanish to her. It was her mother's native language and it was easier for her to speak in Spanish than in English. Most people looked at Becca as the type of girl that wouldn't know a second language, especially Spanish, but when she spoke it fluently and so quickly, their mouths typically dropped and they were easily impressed by it.
--
When the pair and Jesse walked out of the tattoo parlor, Becca watched and listened as Justin gave Jesse strict instructions with his car. Looking to the male she could call her boyfriend if they had given their relationship a label, Becca grinned. Grabbing her keys out of her purse, Becca held them out to Justin and spoke, "The tank is full, but if you put one scratch on my toaster oven, you're going to regret it." The female was very protective of her car, especially because it was the first car that she had bought for herself. "I say we just head back to my place. I'm not really in the mood for dealing with people. But, can we stop at Burger King on the way home? I'm really in the mood for onion rings and that spicy dipping sauce you get with them."
--
When the pair made it back to Becca's apartment, the female let Justin open her apartment door, since her key was attached to the same lanyard as her car key. Once inside, the female headed for her bedroom and changed into her pajamas and then went back into the living room and switched on the television so that she and Justin could watch a movie or something.
Flipping through the channels as she ate her onion rings, Becca just thought about the best time to tell Justin about her positive pregnancy test. She had made up her mind to tell him that exact day, because it wasn't fair if she told him any later, but she just didn't know how exactly to approach him with that kind of major information.
"Babe, what kind of a movie do you want to watch?" the female called out to Justin, wherever he had been in her apartment.
ooh baby, baby..

Maddox couldn't help but laugh when his female companion handed him her keys and told him an almost word for word speech of what he had told Jesse. She was too cute for her own good. Maddox was so glad that it had been her to find him the day he had slit his wrists so badly. She was his saving grace but he knew that if anything went any further, her brothers would have a field day with him.
When the female asked him to stop at Burger King on the way back to her place, Maddox nodded and said a quick "sure" before placing himself in the driver's seat of Becca's car. The dark haired male drove the pair of them to the local Burger King and ordered the onion rings with the spicy sauce for Becca and a Whopper with fries for himself. He at the fries on the drive but decided to wait to eat the burger at her place so as to not get the inside of her car too messy.
----------
Once they arrived back at her place, Maddox parked the car and got out, leading the way to Becca's apartment door. He unlocked it using the key on her lanyard and let her walk in before him. When she headed to her bedroom, he figured she was going to change into something comfortable. Setting the keys down on the coffee table, Maddox walked past it to the bathroom door.
Upon entering and getting himself situated, he happened to look around the bathroom. He hadn't been there in a while and some things looked a bit different than what he had remembered. Maybe she had re-painted? Or re-organized or something? As his eyes scanned the counter, he noticed a tiny stick like thing. He finished what he was doing and was about to zip his pants when his eyes focused more clearly on what was on the counter.
Two lines. Maddox wasn't an idiot. He and Ezzie had had to use a few take home pregnancy tests during their relationship and he knew from reading the boxes that two lines meant positive. But there was no way that test was Becca's. It just wouldn't be right, would it? Why wouldn't she have told him about it? Was she ashamed that he was the father of her child? He honestly wouldn't have blamed her.
Grabbing some toilet paper, Maddox picked the test up and hurried out of the bathroom. Upon entering the living room, facing the back of the couch, Maddox heard Becca call to him about which movie he watched to watch. The male continued to walk so that he was standing on the side of the coffee table, facing Becca. "Yeah. How about one of those crazy teenager love stories where she gets pregnant and doesn't tell her boyfriend until he finds the test," the male spoke, placing, well more like almost throwing, the positive pregnancy test onto the coffee table.

Sitting in the living room, waiting on a response from Justin, Becca had decided that she was going to make a romantic dinner that evening and tell him then. Or, maybe she would just order Chinese and have it delivered instead. Regardless of what dinner consisted of, Becca had made up her mind that she was going to tell Justin over dinner. Although, that plan was ruined when Justin had come barging into the living room, practically throwing the pregnancy test at her.
Nearly choking on the bits of the onion ring still in her mouth, Becca coughed a few times before swallowing her food. Once finished, the female looked to her unofficial boyfriend and sighed as she stood up.
Looking to Justin, Becca felt her eyes get warm and her vision soon blurred slightly. Taking a step toward Justin, the female put her arms around him and buried her face into his chest. "Like the ones that she swears it's her best friend's test, but it's really her own and she's just scared to tell her boyfriend because she's not ready for things to change so drastically yet?" the female questioned, showing how she was really feeling through Justin's way of confronting her.
Though, a few moments later, Becca lifted her head up so that she could look at Justin and sighed. "Literally, right before you walked in, I decided that I was going to tell you over dinner," the brunette managed. "I just don't know how this could have happened," Becca sighed. "I thought that we were careful," she continued. With her arms around Justin, Becca sighed. "I have to be honest with you about something, Justin. I honestly don't even know if I want kids," she spoke. "I don't know if I even want this one." Realizing what she was saying, Becca soon felt that she had to clarify her words a little further. "And please don't think it's because you're the father or anything, because that's not it, even in the slightest bit. I like where we're at; nothing official, just with all the benefits. This is what works for us and I didn't want anything to ruin that. Now everything is going to change and I'm not sure that I'm going to like all of the changes. And not that their opinions matter to me, but I'm going to have to tell my family at some point. Unfortunately, we both know exactly how my brothers are going to react and my mother is going to expect us to get married now. Daddy will just expect you to grow up and do the right thing, so I don't know how that'll go," the brunette said, looking to the floor.

Maddox watched the female as she got up, walked over to him, put her arms around him and buried her head into his chest. He couldn't even move his arms to wrap around her. Normally, he would have but he was too freaked out, shocked, disappointed, all of that and more. The taller male just stood, deciding to finally look down to Becca when she pulled away to look up at him and tell him that she had decided to tell him that very night.
His feelings became more numb as Becca explained that she didn't even want the child she was carrying. He could barely believe what she was saying. The male slowly took a few steps back away from Becca when she was finished talking. In the few moments of silence that followed his movements, Maddox simply looked to her.
"It's not because it's me? If we weren't in whatever this is that we're in, you wouldn't be having a child. Which is exactly what you want apparently for yourself. But you know what, I barely even what children myself. I have always been that type of guy. You know, the one who cheats then never commits again? Yeah, that's me. Becca, I don't want to be anything with you if we can't even agree to grow up and take care of a child together. As confusing as it would be for the child, I don't care if we are what we are instead of becoming a couple. I know your mother would want us to get married but I don't want to go through that process again," the male muttered in one breath before taking in a deep breath and holding it for a moment before continuing.
"I just... I can't even think right now," Maddox spoke, backing away from Becca and turning to walk out of the door. He wasn't leaving for good. He just needed air. He needed time. Mostly, he needed alcohol.

Once Becca had spoken her final words to Justin about how she felt about being pregnant, he became a bit hostile and snapped. The male was taking everything that she had said personally, which was exactly the opposite of what she wanted to happen. The moment Becca was able to get a word in, she jumped at it. "Justin, you're not hearing me," she vocalized. "Whether I was with you, Brad Pitt, or Johnny Depp, I still wouldn't want to be pregnant," she spoke. "It's nothing against you, so stop taking it so personally. And you can't blame yourself entirely," Becca further spoke. "It's not like I told you to get off of me," she stated so matter of factly.
With the emotions running high between the both of them, things would probably get ugly before they even had the slightest chance of getting better. And the exact moment that things could be at their worst, that's exactly where things went, and fast. "Fine then, Justin," Becca shouted. "If you don't want to be anything with me, then don't be," she spat. "If neither of us wants this kid, then don't worry about it, we won't have one," she shouted.
Watching and listening to Justin as he spoke and walked out the door, Becca got upset and went straight for her bedroom. Slamming the door shut, the female went to her bedside and sat down. Her breaths were a bit heavy, because she was so heated and amped up, though she still managed to reach under her bed for her laptop and her song book. When she was this worked up, Becca wrote her best songs.
It was an extremely rare occasion to hear Becca Moore's singing voice, but once you hear it, you were addicted to it. And as the female sat there with a pen and paper, she began penning words that her emotions brought to life after a few minutes, she had something good going and began composing musing, singing her written words to form the perfect combination.
